Boosting Customer Trust, BPR Mitra Bali Muktijaya Mandiri Launches SIMIRA
Bangli – BPR Mitra Bali Muktijaya Mandiri has launched a new product, Simpanan Mitra Hari Raya (SIMIRA), a holiday savings account. Its advantages include no administration fees, a guarantee from the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), supervision by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and holiday gift hampers for customers.
When met by Newsyess on Tuesday (May 17, 2022) at the BPR office in the Kayuambua Market Complex, Susut, Bangli, the Director of PT BPR Mitra Bali Muktijaya Mandiri, Dewa Ayu Eka Ariyanti, S.E., explained that SIMIRA is a savings product dedicated to religious holidays. “It is designed for Nyepi, Galungan, and Eid al-Fitr. The savings can be withdrawn ahead of the holiday,” she said.
Early withdrawals are permitted but subject to a penalty. What makes the product special is that customers receive a gift when withdrawing their savings. “The gift depends on the savings amount. It could be ceremonial items, a bokor (traditional offering bowl), a mixer, or a blender,” she said.
Deposits are flexible, just like a regular savings account. “The term depends on the holiday selected. For Nyepi, the term is one year, while for Galungan it is six months,” she explained.
The program aims to help the public prepare funds so they do not have to worry when the holidays arrive. “It is quite similar to a term savings account,” she said.
She hopes the people of Bangli will become more familiar with BPRs. “We also hope the community’s finances will be better managed, so that they have savings ready when the holidays come,” she said.
Regarding the pandemic, she said conditions were similar to those of BPRs in general. “Thankfully, we have been able to survive. We have gained 500 customers, which shows that people are still able to save. Perhaps we just need more promotion,” she said.
She added that one of the challenges for BPRs is that many people still keep their funds in Village Credit Institutions (LPD) and cooperatives. “Yet BPRs have the advantage of being guaranteed by the LPS, just like commercial banks,” she said.
In terms of lending, the bank is focusing on resolving non-performing loans and restructuring. “We are also reaching out and promoting new products, including financing for customers who plan to work on cruise ships,” she said.
She reminded the public that BPR Mitra Bali Muktijaya Mandiri is neither a cooperative nor an LPD. “Many people still ask me, ‘Which cooperative do you work for?’ This shows that the public is not yet aware that this BPR is guaranteed by the LPS. We hope more people will get to know Muktijaya,” she said.
Citrus farmers have also become borrowers under the working capital loan category. “Our interest rates are competitive and adjusted to the loan amount. We provide capital according to each borrower’s repayment capacity,” she concluded.
